Section 4 Special Legal Entity
 
Article 96 For the purpose of this Section 4, special legal entity means any government authority, rural collective economic organization, urban or rural cooperative economic organization, or residents' autonomous organization, as a legal entity.
 
Article 97 A government authority with an independent funding source or a statutory entity performing administrative functions shall be granted the status of a government authority as a legal entity on the date of its establishment and may engage in civil activities necessary for the performance of its functions.
 
Article 98 Upon the revocation of a government authority as a legal entity, its status as a legal entity shall be terminated, and its civil rights and obligations shall be succeeded by the succeeding government authority as a legal entity, in the absence of which, by the government authority deciding on its revocation.
 
Article 99 A rural collective economic organization shall be granted the status as a legal entity according to law.
 
Where laws and administrative regulations provide otherwise for rural collective economic organizations, such provisions shall prevail.
