Article 180 In case of failure to perform civil obligations due to a force majeure event, such obligations shall be exempted unless otherwise specified by law.
For the purpose of this Code, force majeure event means any unforeseeable, unavoidable and insurmountable conditions.
Article 181 In case of damage or loss caused by justifiable defense, the justifiable defender shall not be held civilly liable.
Provided, however, that the justifiable defender shall be held civilly liable to an appropriate extent for any undue damage caused by justifiable defense beyond the extent necessary.
Article 182 In case of damage or loss due to the necessity to avoid danger in an emergency, the person causing the danger shall be held civilly liable for the damage.
Where the danger is caused by natural causes, the emergency response party shall not be held civilly liable and may be obligated to provide the damaged party with appropriate compensation.
Provided, however, that the emergency response party shall bear appropriate civil liability for any undue damage due to emergency response measures which are inappropriate or beyond the extent necessary.
