China’s Accounting Law: Legal Liabilities Stipulated in the Accounting Law
 (4) In case of inciting, instructing, or demanding an accounting department, accountant, or any other person to forge or alter accounting vouchers or accounting books, prepare false financial reports, or conceal or intentionally destroy accounting vouchers, accounting books, or financial reports that shall be kept in accordance with the law, criminal liability shall be incurred in accordance with the law if it constitutes a crime, or a fine of not less than RMB 5,000 but not more than RMB 50,000 shall be imposed if it does not constitute a crime, and an administrative penalty of demotion, removal from office, or discharge from public employment shall be imposed on the actor by his employer or a competent authority if the actor is a State functionary.
