Judicial Review of Arbitration Cases –Petitions Filed with Multiple Courts

A person petitioning for recognizing an arbitral award rendered outside of mainland China should file a single petition with a court of competent jurisdiction rather than petitions with multiple courts. If he does submits petitions with multiple courts, the court of jurisdiction that first admits the petition shall make a decision on the case, and any other court should dismiss or reject the repeated petitions.
If the petitioner fails to notify the courts of his repeated submissions, and decisions are rendered in different courts, he may be subject to severe economic sanctions.
